Face Book Currency

I attended DC AD WEEK last week. It was very informative with many good speakers and valuable information about where new advertising is heading.
However, I think you can summarize all they said in 6- 7 bullets- Rules are not hard. But HOW you do it and HOW you can compete to make it better is a challenge. No body, tapped in to it.

Social marketing, of course was another big hit. In one of the presenter’s speech, he talked about how these days they can analyze the content and “friends” in FB and then by measuring your “Bottom Line “and “Profit”, they can tell you the value of each “friend” (like $2.5 or….).
This is what I absolutely hate about advertising: are using words, or phrases that have different value for all of us and fool you with them.  Finding value for each of your friend!! At least, please use another word not “Friend”
So “Friends” will is a new currency for FB. Friends are equal to money. Friends are equal to your profit, to your share,  your asset, bank account …. and this is sad.
Next time you want to accept a request to be a friend with someone on FB, think of your self as a currency not a “Friend”.
